The Institute for Applied Research and International Relations is the central service and coordination point for activities in the fields of research and international relations at Catholic University of Applied Sciences Mainz (CUAS Mainz).
The aim of all research activities of CUAS Mainz is to contribute to solving current problems and challenges in the social, societal and ecclesiastical fields as well as in the nursing and health care sector. This results in a commitment to application-oriented research and consequently to the transfer of theory and practice. In this way, an important contribution is made to the critical reflection of professional practice in the social and health sector. Dialogue between humanities, social sciences and theology is also promoted. The integrative approach intends not least to counteract a generally deplored disorientation and segmentation of knowledge areas.
Globalization and social change have an impact on the professional development of social, educational and nursing professions. Therefore, the Catholic University of Applied Sciences Mainz considers internationalization as a process extending into all areas of the university. CUAS Mainz sees itself as an internationally oriented university that actively promotes intercultural exchange. In doing so, the university encourages and supports all members to benefit from and contribute to its internationality.
