Course contents and objectives

The Bachelor’s degree in midwifery enables graduates to approach the treatments and interventions in practical midwifery on a differentiated and reflected basis. Focus is placed in particular on the provision of support to the physiological procedures during pregnancy, labour, puerperium and during the child’s first year of life. This results in a resource-oriented and salutogenetic approach, for example through the promotion of communication skills. The students learn to respond to practice-relevant questions on the basis of the findings of social and psychoneuroendocrinological research results.
